As we observe Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country and our communities. Their courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to protecting others will never be forgotten.

At the Colorado Fallen Hero Foundation, this day holds deep meaning. We stand with the families, fellow officers, and communities who carry the legacy of those lost in the line of duty. Their sacrifice is the reason we remain committed to providing support, compassion, and guidance to survivors across Colorado.

Our office will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. We will resume normal operations on Tuesday, May 26 and will respond to any messages as soon as possible.

Wishing you a thoughtful and meaningful Memorial Day as we remember the heroes who gave everything.

This May, during Mental Health Awareness Month, we are reflecting on an important distinction that deeply connects to the families and communities we serve: the difference between mental health and mental health conditions.

For the Colorado Fallen Hero Foundation, supporting survivors means recognizing the emotional weight carried after a line of duty death and ensuring families, peers, and agencies have the care and resources they need.

💙 Everyone has mental health. It influences how we cope, connect, and move through each day.
💙 Mental health conditions are diagnosable challenges such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD, and many individuals will experience one in their lifetime.
💙 Good mental health and mental illness can exist at the same time. With compassionate support, treatment, and community, many survivors find strength while navigating grief and trauma.
💙 Poor mental health does not always mean a mental health condition. Stress, loss, and major life changes can deeply affect well-being.
💙 Small actions can support healing. Talking with others, taking time to rest, spending time outdoors, or engaging in meaningful connection can make a difference.
💙 Professional care matters. Counseling and mental health services can benefit anyone, including those facing the long-term impact of losing a loved one in the line of duty.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a mental health professional. You are not alone.

We remain committed to standing with survivors, supporting their emotional well-being, and honoring their resilience this month and always.

Police Week is a time to recognize the humanity behind the uniform and to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving others.

Many people meet police officers on their very worst days, however they are also there during some of the best: working security at a large community celebration, sitting with kids to discuss safety and the job, helping folks to cross the road...

We are thankful for the police officers who show up for the community. What is one way a police officer showed up for you?
