Need a creative activity for the kids this weekend?
Last year, we received so many incredible Patch Coloring Contest entries, and we've already seen some amazing submissions this year! We'd love to see even more young artists join in!
There's still time to participate - the deadline to submit entries is Thursday, July 23.
🎨 Kids can use crayons, colored pencils, or markers to design and color their own version of the LPD patch (no digital coloring or graphics).
✅ How to get your coloring page:
- Download and print it from the link at the bottom of this post.
- Or pick one up for free at the LPD Records Desk (601 Columbia St.).
✅ How to submit your masterpiece:
- Drop off the completed coloring page at LPD’s Records Desk.
- Or scan and email it to [email protected].
- Please be sure to include your child’s name and age on the back of the page, along with a parent or guardian’s phone number. If you're emailing, just include that info in the message body.
🗓️ Deadline:
All artwork must be submitted by Thursday, July 23 at 11:59 p.m.
✅ How voting works:
- On Friday, July 24, we’ll upload all submissions to our page.
- Our followers will get to “like” their favorite designs. One like = one vote!
- Voting ends Thursday, July 23 at 11:59pm (EDT).
- Winning groups: Ages 3–5, Ages 6–8, Ages 9–12, Ages 13-16, Grand Champion, & Chief's Choice
🏅 What does the winner get?
🎨 Recognition on stage at the Lafayette Police Department’s National Night Out event on Saturday, August 1
🎨 4 tickets to the Battle of the Badges: Lafayette Police vs. Fire Softball Game
🎨 Their design (Grand Champion) featured as LPD’s Facebook and Instagram profile photo for one week.
🎨 An LPD Swag Bag!
✅ Keep it fun and family friendly! Artwork must be appropriate for all audiences and consistent with the purpose of the National Night Out children’s patch coloring contest and may not contain:
- Profanity, vulgar or inappropriate language
- Violent, graphic, threatening, hateful, or harassing content
- Discriminatory or offensive imagery
- Advertisements, business promotions, campaign materials
- Messages, symbols, or imagery that promote or oppose any particular cause, ideology, or organization.
LPD reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not meet these guidelines or that are inconsistent with the purpose of the contest.
By entering, a parent or guardian grants permission for the organization to display the artwork and use the child's first name, age, and artwork in contest announcements and promotional materials.
