Living and Learning Museum of Walker County, Georgia

Living and Learning Museum of Walker County, Georgia A cooperative effort of historic sites or Learning Centers to enhance the educational needs of our community with customized field trips or visits to you.

With the input of teachers and administrators, we hope to develop several programs around themes from our bountiful heritage, such as industry and business - Marsh's Mill at Trion and mercantile store in LaFayette; agriculture - Martin Davis House; education-schools in the immediate area; slave life; the Civil War - all around Northwest Georgia; reconstruction and rebuilding the South; social cust

oms; food and food production; clothing and textiles; music and entertainment; religion and churches. With a variety of topics, teachers could choose one that would best enhance their classroom needs. A variety of GPS other than Social Studies could be incorporated.

Reminder.

Several things are happening with arts in Walker County and La Fayette. Perhaps it’s time to renew the Arts Guild. Please come to an envisioning meeting on Tuesday, September 16, 7:00 pm at the Marsh House. We have kept the 501 c3 status active for future possibilities. Come and bring thoughts and dreams.
