🏫When teachers lose planning time, students lose personalized learning.🎒

Every child in Lafayette Parish learns differently. Some need extra help with reading, others are ready for advanced math, but many need tailored support to thrive.

But creating differentiated, engaging lessons for 20–30 different learners per classroom takes time, time that LPSS teachers simply aren’t always given. When planning periods are cut or filled with coverage, burdensome paperwork and non-instructional duties teachers are forced into “survival mode” with lesson plans that might not hit the needs of every learner.

Our students deserve lessons tailored to their needs, and our teachers deserve the time to create them.

👉 Together, we are fighting for the resources and time our classrooms need. Join LPAE today and help us build a stronger school system for every student in Lafayette Parish: www.lae.org/join

🚨When planning time disappears, teacher burnout rises.🚨

Across Lafayette Parish School System, educators are reaching a breaking point. Planning time is regularly squeezed out by last-minute coverage, burdensome paperwork, and meetings.

The result? Teachers working unpaid hours every single night just to keep up and talented educators leaving our parish entirely.

We cannot build the school system our students deserve on the backs of burnt-out teachers. Protected, dedicated planning time MUST become a priority.

How you can take action today:
1. Comment below: How many hours of uninterrupted planning time did you actually get this week?
2. Share this post: Help us bring visibility to working conditions across LPSS.
3. Join us: Change starts with collective strength. Stand with your fellow Lafayette educators and become a member today: lae.org/join

School supplies cost more this year. Educator paychecks aren't stretching any further.

As families face rising back-to-school costs, many educators are digging even deeper into their own pockets to help students start the year with the supplies and support they need.
