Tippecanoe County Love on a Leash Our Love on a Leash certified therapy animal teams provide volunteer therapy animal visit to hospitals, nursing homes, schools, libraries and more.

We serve Greater Lafayette/ Tippecanoe County and the surrounding counties. This page was originally created under the auspices of TDI. Since 1/8/26, this page has migrated to Love on a Leash®. Chip, Zoey, Turtle, Elroy, Teddy and Ridge visited with Mrs. Kaverman’s first grade class and enjoyed meeting all of the students. The therapy animals will be visiting with these students once a month throughout the school year as the children practice their reading skills by reading stories to the animals. This will be our third year visiting Mrs. Kaverman’s class!

Feeling stressed? Take a break with Dog Days at Hicks Library this Thursday, September 3 from 2–4pm! Come pet certified therapy dogs and unwind during these monthly events.
Students must sign a waiver to participate. Drop in anytime!

Elroy and Zoey went to Kokomo yesterday to visit Howard Haven. The Kokomo teams from the Love on a Leash Howard County Chapter were not able to come this month, and we were happy to cover the visit for them. It was a lovely visit and the residents enjoyed their time with Elroy and Zoey.

Eddie, Chip, Zoey, Ridge, Elroy and Teddy had their first visit of the school year with Ms. Atwell’s second grade class. The therapy animals will be visiting with these students once a month throughout the school year as the students practice their reading skills by reading to the animals. We gave the kids bookmarks featuring all of the therapy animals who will be participating this year. This will be our chapter’s second year visiting Ms. Atwell’s class. We all value and enjoy this partnership.
