💔 Our hearts are absolutely breaking for these families.

These aren't just strangers to us. These are families we've gotten to know. Families we've served. Parents we've hugged. Children we've celebrated. Families who have touched our hearts in ways we can't even explain.

These parents are no different from you or me. They work hard, they love their children fiercely, and they want nothing more than to give their kids a happy, safe, and stable life.

Imagine doing everything you can to keep your family afloat, only to be faced with yet another devastation. 💔

Sometimes we forget just how quickly life can change and how close so many families are to losing everything they've worked so hard for.

Please keep these families and their precious children in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate yet another heartbreaking chapter.

They are more than their circumstances. They are hardworking parents, loving families, and children who deserve to feel safe.

And right now, they need our community's love more than ever. ❤️

Dozens of residents found themselves with nowhere to go after police came knocking on doors at the Evangeline Thruway motel Thursday afternoon, informing them that the motel would be closing, at least temporarily, effective immediately. Now that students have the school supplies they need, we’ve been hearing another need again and again: new underwear.

It’s not part of one of our four annual projects, but when a child we serve needs something essential, we want to be able to help.

Right now, we need new, packaged underwear in the sizes listed above.

Last year, Youngsville Rotary Club believed in our mission and awarded The Akidiana Project our very first grant. This year, they blessed us again—and even increased their support! 🥹

They understand something that means so much to us: every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and celebrated—no matter where they lay their head at night.

When a child feels seen, they begin to believe they matter. And when they believe they matter, they’re more likely to dream bigger, try harder, and believe in themselves.
