Travis Eller, talent agent with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), spoke to the club today about his role in the digital entertainment industry and beyond. CAA is the largest talent agency in the United States , and Travis has catapulted his career in record time by finding a niche in southern talent. He has taken average people with a minimal following and worked with them to get deals they could only dream of. He has also worked with influencers with millions of followers and taken them to the next level. Travis is a 2015 graduate of Macon Co High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University. Of note, Travis is also a voting member of both the CMA and ACM. We loved having Travis speak to us about his career and enjoyed learning about the entertainment industry.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and in honor of that, we had the pleasure of hearing from Valerie Spurlock, Behavioral Health Case Manager at Macon Community Hospital.

She shared the importance of mental health, how to recognize signs when someone may be struggling, and ways we can take steps toward better mental wellness by utilizing the resources around us.

We were pleased to welcome Jonathan Smallwood, Vice President of TCAT Hartsville, as our guest speaker today. He shared exciting updates about the campus expansion project, which is set to be completed this fall. The expansion will bring in new programs along with more space for current programs to grow. Today, we had the pleasure of hearing from MCHS Club America members Allie Kate Austin, Paige Shrum, and Vanessa Kirby! They shared that Club America is a student-led organization focused on civic engagement, leadership, and encouraging thoughtful discussion on current issues. They also talked about bringing standout collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines to speak with MCHS students recently. Wonderful program, ladies! ❤️🤍💙
