Want to make a teacher's day? Consider adding any of these items to the Stuff The Bus box at 232-Help (1005 Jefferson St.) . All of these supplies will go directly to a teacher to use in their classroom, and keeps the teacher from having to pay for it out of their own pocket.

UPDATE! As of 4:00pm on 6/2 we are back up and running!!

As of 11:00 am on 6/2, 211's across Louisiana are currently experiencing a temporary service disruption due to an outage with one of our service providers. If you can't get through by calling, you can still text your zip code to 898-211 and one of our agents can help you. We will let you know as soon as this is resolved.

We would like to give special thanks to our local legislators who stopped by to visit with us yesterday at the State Capitol. It was the last day of a long session and everyone was ready to get home, but they still took the time out of their day to visit with us and learn more about 232-Help and the services we provide to the residents of Acadiana.

Each person we talked to was surprised to learn that our 211 services throughout the state currently receive NO STATE OR FEDERAL FUNDING. 232-Help is a 501c3 nonprofit and has been for our 60 year history of serving our neighbors. With the critical services that we offer, especially during times of disaster, we are hoping our state officials see the value that we bring and consider helping so that 211 remains available when our friends or family members find themselves in times of crisis.

Special thanks to State Senator Brach Myers for his recognition of 232-Help on the Senate floor yesterday. We are grateful to have such strong advocates for 211 in both the State House and Senate.

HUGE thank you to Joshua Hart with South Louisiana Community College for leading our Life Skills: Basic Auto Maintenance class. This was a hands on learning experience for our students and we could not be more grateful for the college allowing this to take place and for Joshua being such a great teacher.

We are learning so much through hosting this Life Skills Series and are already thinking of ways to improve it for the fall classes. Stay tuned for updates!

We are excited to once again partner with our friends at United Way of Acadiana for their Stuff The Bus campaign as an official drop off spot as well as gathering a 232-Help Team to volunteer on teacher shopping day!

Behind every student is a teacher who's giving their all, often with supplies they purchased themselves. We are honored to support our local educators by serving as a drop off site for school supplies so that teachers can focus on what is really important - teaching our kids!

Next time you are in downtown Lafayette enjoying lunch at one of our incredible restaurants, consider dropping off items like disinfecting wipes, dry erase markers, Ziplock bags ... anything that would make our teachers' jobs a little easier.

And THANK YOU for helping out our teachers!
