There's nothing prettier in nature right now than a pepper — reds, purples, stripes and heat levels from mild to volcanic, all piled on tables downtown.

Based in Lafayette's Market Report says it's also the swan song for an exceptional stone fruit season: plums and cherries are down to their last stragglers, so grab them while you can. The Lafayette Farmers Market runs tomorrow, 8 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on Fifth and Main.
