Today the Digbytown F.O.O.L.S. was honored to have Orion Rich come to town! The “Street Smart” truck company lecture was awesome and the importance of making the roof! Thanks to everyone who attended and drove a long way for this class! It means a lot to us when we have a great turn out like this!

Donald Thelen died July 31st, 2020, from occupational cancer and is recognized as an LODD for the Lafayette Fire Department. Our chapter will always remember those who came before us and those who the job ultimately took. Every fireman knows that we are at a high risk for cancer and still do the job. Donald Thelen served 36 years with the department. Thank you for your service Don and we promise to never forget. RFB

1 year ago the Lafayette Fire Department lost a brother. John G. Robinson died while on duty and will forever be missed. His laugh is missed around the fire house and kitchen table. May his family know that we will always be there for them whenever needed and that we will never forget!

John William Mitchell died on April 10th, 1914, at the Dryfus Theater Fire. Mitchell was working on the Alpha side of the building when a piece of the cornice fell off of the building while he was trying to secure a hoseline, trapping him underneath. He later passed at the hospital, becoming Lafayette Fire Departments first Line of Duty Death.
Yesterday we cleaned the gravestone and vow to never forget.
We continue to honor and remember every area LODD! RFB

Last weekend we had our annual F.O.O.L.S. Ball! Thank you so much to everyone who came out! Also thank you to the for hosting us again this year! A great night of fellowship, brotherhood and family. Family is what the fire service is about and I think the photos speak for themselves!
