Help us celebrate our very own Morganne Guidry! 🌿

Our talented Horticulturalist has been hard at work, both in the Park and behind the scenes! Last week, Morganne passed her Louisiana Landscape Horticulturist license exam, bringing her to three professional credentials earned in less than a year:

✅ Louisiana Native Plant Professional
✅ Prescribed Burn Manager
✅ Louisiana Landscape Horticulturist License

If you've spent time exploring Moncus Park, you've seen the impact of the care and dedication Morganne brings to our landscapes every day. Her passion for horticulture, commitment to learning, and love for the natural world make her such a valued part of our team.

We're kicking things off tonight with a Halloween Costume Contest at Pack Walks with Camp Bow Wow and keeping the fall fun going all week long before wrapping things up with a monster-sized movie night on Saturday's Movies at Moncus featuring Monsters University, presented by Home Bank!

Food Truck Friday is back starting tomorrow, October 2nd from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., and returning on select Fridays throughout October and November! 🚚🍔🥤

Grab lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing under the oaks or in the Doerle Pavilion. Enjoy shade, fans, yard games, and plenty of room for the kids to run around.

There's a lot of care behind the Park you know and love, and today we're celebrating two people who have given so much of theirs to Moncus Park. 🌳

🌟 JP MacFadyen, Executive Director | 7 years
JP has been a steady leader, thoughtful collaborator and champion for the vision behind the Park. He listens, supports his team and never hesitates to roll up his sleeves and jump in alongside us. His leadership has helped guide Moncus Park through so much growth while keeping an eye on the bigger picture: building something our community can enjoy for generations to come.

🌿 Abbie Judice Acosta, Conservation Director | 4 years
As an arborist and the leader of our conservation efforts, Abbie brings her expertise and passion for the natural world to everything she does. From caring for our trees and native landscapes to guiding the long-term stewardship of our 100 acres, she plays a vital role in keeping Moncus Park rooted in nature.

We're lucky to have these two on our team and grateful for all they bring to the Park. 💚
