The Walker County Livestock Show Team is headed to the Georgia National Fair in Perry, GA, and we couldn’t be more proud of the young exhibitors representing our county!

This year’s team includes exhibitors from:
💙 LaFayette Middle School
💙 LaFayette High School
💙 Saddle Ridge

From early mornings in the barn to long days in the show ring, these kids have put in the work. They’re learning responsibility, dedication, sportsmanship, and the value of agriculture — while making memories that will last a lifetime. 🐐🐑

Join us in Perry, October 7-10, as we cheer on our Walker County exhibitors and celebrate the families, traditions, and agricultural community that make livestock showing so special!

We are so proud to see Walker 4-H represented among the finalists for the 2026 Georgia 4-H & Georgia FFA Market Goat and Market Lamb Record Book Awards! 💙

These exhibitors have put in countless hours caring for their animals, keeping records, learning about agriculture, and developing valuable life skills along the way. Their hard work and dedication are something to celebrate! 👏🏼

We are excited to recognize our award recipients who submitted 2026 Georgia 4-H and Georgia FFA Market Goat & Market Lamb Record Books. Attached is a list of the finalists by species and category. Please share this information with your exhibitors and their families and follow up with them to ensure they attend the award presentations.

Final results will be announced at the start of each species show in New South Arena:
Market Goat – At the beginning of the Market Wether show on Friday, October 9, 2026
Market Lamb – 9:00 am on Sunday, October 11, 2026

Our Senior Team placed 2nd Overall at the Area 1 Land Judging CDE and is headed to the State Competition in November! 🎉

Meats Evaluation Team competed last night and placed 8th overall in the competition! 👏🏼

We’re so proud of these students for putting in the time, working hard, and representing the local FFA! Every competition is an opportunity to learn, grow, and gain experience—and we couldn’t be more proud of them!

Deer season is underway, and Georgia’s Hunters for the Hungry participating processors are ready to accept donated deer from hunters across the state. Check out the participating processor list, find a location near you, and make donating a deer part of your hunting season plans.
