What an incredible event! Last week we hosted our 10th Annual Mable’s Table Backpack Project! We were so blessed with volunteers from the community to come out and write notes of inspiration, decorate picture frames and pack backpacks full of school supplies. These 300 backpacks and 150 homework kits will benefit the foster and homeless children in our community! Wow! What an amazing event we had for the 9th Annual Mable’s Table Backpack Project last month! Thank you to everyone in the community who came out to support at-risk (foster/homeless) children in our community. We packed 300 backpacks with school supplies , notes of inspiration and decorated trinket boxes. We also included a book in each backpack to encourage reading. In addition, we packed 100 homework kits to make sure children have the tools they need at home.

Thank you to our sponsors: UBS, Kiwanis Club of Lafayette and Stuller Foundation for your generous donations in making this event happen. Also thank you to Grace Presbyterian Church for the use of your wonderful church hall and our inkind sponsors; Ace Specialties, Raising Cane’s, Kart Ranch, Sky Zone and Piggly Wiggly of Scott. Your partnership is appreciated beyond measure!

What a few weeks Mable’s Table has had! Our 8th Annual Mable’s Table Backpack Project was a huge success with about 100 volunteers packing 300 backpacks for foster and homeless children in Acadiana. We had volunteers making notes of inspiration, decorating trinket boxes and making beaded keychain zipper pulls to show love for these sweet children! Thank you to all those in our community who came out to support our project! You are making a difference in the lives of these children and we are forever grateful! This past weekend our Lafayette-based Summer Associates and attorneys volunteered at the 8th annual Mable's Table Backpack Project. This non-profit organization provides foster children and at-risk youths with backpacks and essential school supplies to start their school year strong.
