It has come to our attention that the structure that houses the community fridge at 2905 East Simcoe St. on the property of McMillan‘s pub has been damaged.

❗️❗️❗️The fridge remains plugged in and cold and usable for anyone looking to drop off donations.❗️❗️❗️

In the meantime we are working with people to figure out a rebuild solution for an updated structure so we can continue to serve the community.
Please be patient with us during this time. We are not sure when a rework of the structure will take place, but until then rest assured that the community fridge IS still running and able to accept your donations!

They raised money at their market this past weekend and went shopping for staple items and stocked BOTH fridges 🤩

Let’s talk about ✨going above and beyond!✨ because that’s exactly what this group did!

A few months ago, + and lots of brilliant souls curated an intentional dinner to celebrate culture in south LA! Waterlogged was an absolutely beautiful event that raised $500 for LCF! It was the most special night of community, food, art, connection and love.

They didn’t stop at just raising money for our fridges, they wanted to do more with their money and they asked us what we needed from that donation. ‼️PREPARED MEALS‼️ is what we need! We need manpower, we need folks to take initiative. Alexis said- “say no more!”
This lovely group of friends came together on a Sunday to make over 40 BEAUTIFUL and nutritious plate lunches to fill our McMillans Fridge. They gave us a grocery list, we did the shopping and they did the work! This was so incredibly moving to be a part of. The laughter, joy, and friendship was overflowing. This is EXACTLY what the fridge needs more of y’all. We need people to rally together, to make a little bit of time, and put a little bit of life into a community project. This is the whole purpose of the fridges and I cannot thank them enough for pouring energy into going above and beyond.

Thank you SOO much to Alexis, Matt, and all of their friends for making this happen. You guys are leaders, world changers, healers for a community that truly needs this care.
