A self-development group founded to help women develop their leadership skills as they build and expand their relationships in their community, through training, motivation and collaboration. Education was a very big part of this vision, since it was through education that she could break away from poverty levels and give her children better opportunities. She has devoted her life to giving back t
o her community by her continuous work with charitable institutions. Where she has not volunteered extensive amounts of her time to abused women and children’s home motivating them to take charge of their future. After working for “Corporate America” for over 25 years in Managerial Accounting in different industries, this year our founder made the decision to quit her "job" and dedicate herself to the growth of her own firm. She was sure she was doing all the right things. She took marketing classes, started networking in my local area and started expanding her connections. Yet after a few months of doing this and not getting the results, she had expected, she found herself doubting her decision and wondering if she had made the right choice. Despite having had many businesses in the past and having much knowledge and an extensive career in business, at times she felt insecure and scared. It was then that she decided to join some of the women entrepreneur’s groups in the local area. Joining these groups worked wonders for her self-esteem as well as her personal and professional development. Because, she realized that she was not alone and that all women entrepreneurs at some point lack confidence. The support that is gained from other women business owners, going through everyday struggles helps us get through the day. It did not take her long to realize that, there were no groups like this locally in the Hispanic community. Since she had a large network of women entrepreneur’s friends in her community, she founded the first Hispanic women entrepreneurs group in Charleston, where many talented women come together to help motivate and learn from one another. En mayo de este año tomo la decisión de abandonar su "trabajo corporativo" y dedicarse por completo al crecimiento su propio negocio. Ella estaba segura de que estaba haciendo todo lo correcto, tomo clases de mercadeo, comenzó a trabajar en las redes de su área local y comenzó a expandir sus contactos. ¿Después de unos meses de hacer esto y no obtener los resultados esperados, se encontré dudando si había tomado la decisión correcta? A pesar de haber tenido empresas en el pasado y tener mucho conocimiento y una extensa carrera en los negocios, se sintió insegura y en ocasiones tenía miedo de los resultados. Después de unirse a algunos grupos de mujeres emprendedoras en el área, se dio cuenta de que no estaba solo y que todas las mujeres empresarias en algún momento carecían de confianza. El apoyo que obtuvo de esos grupos fue enorme para su autoestima, desarrollo personal y profesional. No tardó en darse cuenta de que no había grupos como este en la comunidad hispana. Como ella tenía una gran red de amigas en la comunidad hispana que eran mujeres empresarias, vio la necesidad de esto en su comunidad. Mujeres Hispanas Empresarias de SC se fundó para ayudar a tantas mujeres talentosas a unirse para ayudar, motivar y aprender las unas de las otras. Tenemos un grupo semanal de Emprendedoras los miércoles a las 10:00 a.m. donde nos reunimos para capacitarnos y desarrollar ideas para ayudarnos mutuamente a crecer. También, tenemos un grupo cerrado de Facebook donde podemos publicar ideas, solicitar ayuda y motivarnos mutuamente durante toda la semana.
