Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center Inspiring a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world through curiosity and discovery
- for all ages. Unplug, relax, and connect with nature!

Prescott Farm is a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental education and preservation. We provide year-round environmental education programs for all ages and a place in the Lakes Region community that encourages curiosity, discovery, fun and connection to the natural world. Founded in 1997 as Prescott Conservancy, Inc. d/b/a Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center, Prescott Farm ha

s helped awaken appreciation for nature and concern for the environment in thousands of program participants. We offer a wide range of Community Connections programs designed to preserve and pass down knowledge and skills that encourage an understanding of the natural systems that sustain us all and respect for the environment. During the summer and school vacation weeks, our environmentally-themed WildQuest Camps have offered children ages 6-12 the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow in nature for over 15 years. Since 2015 our nature-based preschool, Fledglings Preschool at Prescott Farm, has offered children ages 3 to 5 the educational foundation they need to succeed in school while awakening in each child a natural curiosity and respect for nature which is at the core of every preschool lesson. Our Naturalist in the Classroom program supports teachers in local schools to provide place-based, hands-on lessons that incorporate the natural world to satisfy curriculum requirements and help keep children engaged and excited about learning throughout the school year. Prescott Farm is designated as an official NH Wildlife Viewing area with 160 acres of conservation lands open to the public year-round. Visitors can play in our natural Playscape, learn about native plant and wildlife species, and explore at their own pace in our heritage gardens and along more than three miles of woodland, pond and field trails with views of Lake Winnipesaukee and the Belknap Mountains.

Calling all artists and nature lovers! ✨🎨

There is nothing quite like plein air painting—the beautiful practice of stepping outside, setting up your canvas, and capturing the exact light, color, and feeling of a moment in nature.

Whether you are a seasoned painter or just picking up a brush for the first time, Prescott Farm’s 160 acres of rolling hills, trails, and historic buildings offer the ultimate scenic backdrop.

📍 We’ve mapped out 5 picture-perfect spots for you to set up your easel:
1️⃣ The top of the hill overlooking our historic barn 🌅
2️⃣ The garden near the rock steps 🌸
3️⃣ The Maple Sugar Shack 🍁
4️⃣ Deep along our 3+ miles of hiking trails 🌲
5️⃣ Under the Big Tree (or near the Big Rock) by the lower parking lot 🪨

⏰ When to come: Our property is open to the public from sunrise to sunset every single day of the year! Grab your favorite painting or drawing supplies, a portable chair, and come get inspired.

🖼️ Showcase Your Art!
Did you know you can display the artwork you create at the farm? We host an open art exhibition during our annual Harvest Festival on the last Saturday of September!

Cost: Free to enter! (Limited to the first 24 artists)

Rules: Art must be framed (max size 12″ x 16″) and ready to hang with a wire backing.

Deadline: Drop off your finished piece at our Education Center by September 1st.

💡 Looking for expert guidance? Keep an eye out for our seasonal Saturday workshops with local artist consultant 's profile picture! Larry also hosts art classes every Wednesday morning from 9:00 – 11:30 AM right here at the farm.
