🏕️ The camps are going up, vendors are arriving, and the 2026 EMPO Rendezvous is almost ready!

Campers and vendors have begun setting up at the Black Walnut American Legion, and everything is coming together for a great weekend of living history. We’re excited to welcome visitors this Saturday and Sunday, September 12 & 13!

328 Old Route 6 Road, Laceyville, PA 18623

🕘 Open to the Public: 9 AM–3 PM both days
🎯 Competitions: 10 AM–2 PM both days

Come spend the day exploring primitive camps, meeting reenactors and craftspeople, visiting dozens of vendors, and experiencing the skills and traditions of early American life.

Competitions and activities include:
• Paper Long Gun & Pistol Shoot
• Woods Walk
• Primitive Archery Walk
• Tomahawk Walk & Throw
• Mystery Target
• Instructional Shoot
• Cross Stick Division for ages 65+

You’ll also find demonstrations and traditional skills throughout the weekend, plus food available all day.

Whether you’re a longtime muzzleloading enthusiast or have never been to a rendezvous before, come out and see what it’s all about!

What an incredible evening on the Susquehanna!

Members of the Endless Mountains Primitive Outdoorsmen (EMPO) were honored to partner with the Endless Mountains Heritage Region during the first day of the Annual North Branch Sojourn. It was a pleasure welcoming paddlers and sharing a glimpse into life on the Pennsylvania frontier as part of the America250PA celebration.

Our members enjoyed presenting hands-on demonstrations and historical interpretation, including:

Flintlock Muzzleloader Demonstrations

Tomahawk Throwing

Flint and Steel Fire Starting

Colonial Era Sojourn Essentials

Women's frontier clothing and daily life, along with an interactive demonstration on making natural cordage using traditional techniques

A sincere thank you to the Endless Mountains Heritage Region for inviting us to be part of this outstanding event and to everyone who was present learn, ask questions, and experience history firsthand. We also appreciate the many volunteers that made the night a success.

Events like these help preserve the stories, skills, and traditions that shaped early America. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our passion for living history with visitors from across the Northeast and hope to see many of you at one of our future events!

The wait is over! The Endless Mountains Primitive Outdoorsmen Scholarship Shoot is happening today.

Join us for a fun day of traditional muzzleloading competition, camaraderie, and support for our annual scholarship program.
