1. Helping those in need:
Community Outreach For Homeless Kids
Sponsors Needed!!! One of the main issues of today is the increase of homelessness. When we think of the homeless, we visualize one person, either man or woman. It is never considered that there are children and youth who lack a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence. MEPHGCH

RAM’s Charity Programs are committed in helping communities, especially the youth. No matter where they are from or who they are, the children of today are our leaders of tomorrow. Last year, there were approximately 27,000 homeless children attending school in Washington State alone! These children, some with resources and many without, attended school with the belongings they carry living on the streets or in shelters. The most needed items for a homeless child attending school are clothing, school accessories and meals. Our Mission
From June 1, 2014 to September 30, 2014, MEPHGCHRAM’s Charities will be conducting a charity fundraiser to raise donations to help the homeless children of our state and to raise awareness for this crucial epidemic. To start off this event, MEPHGCHRAM’s Charities has pledged $2000.00 towards this project. All funds donated to this project will be used solely for the homeless youth; donations to charity should be used for that purpose and not for the pockets of any organization. Backpacks
3. Shoes
4. School Supplies
5. Toiletries (toothbrush, deodorant, etc.)
6. Gift cards
7. Monetary donation

We will be publishing the locations sites to drop off any of the items listed above beginning in the month of June. Locations site will also be published in the newspaper and hopefully on various radio stations. We are committed to helping the homeless kids return back to school in September with the necessities to feel comfortable in school. If you would like to become a sponsor and donate to this project click this link: Yes, I would like to help
Your donations will bring not only a smile but will assist us in helping the homeless children who need our assistance. Please note that federal law provides that clothing and household goods must be in “good used condition or better” for tax deductions.

2.. Feeding the homeless:

Unless you've been hungry for more than a few hours, you don't know what homeless people struggle with every day. They never know how or when they will eat their next meal. Hunger affects their ability to concentrate and function making it difficult for them to find ways to help themselves. Homeless people enjoy the nurturing that comes from home made food just as much as anyone. On the 3rd (third) Sunday of each month, we prepare a home cooked meal for those at the Tacoma Avenue Shelter. Between the hours of 5:30pm - 6:45pm, we serve around 85 to 120 homeless residents of the facility. The service we provide is the reward we receive from helping those that are in need of help. "But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they can not repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just." Luke 14:13-14

3. Scholarships:

"True scholarship consists in knowing not what things exists, but what they mean; it is not memory but judgement." James Russell Lowell

MEPHGCHRAM provides academic scholarships to high school students who aspire to attend an institution of higher education. These students must have a grade point average of 2.8, attending college as a first year full time student, and reside in Washington State. Applications are accepted throughout the school year. In the month of June, the recipients will be selected and announced. The scholarship award will be presented at our Annual Awards Banquet which will be held on the third Saturday in the month of August.. The Awards Banquet consists of recipients of the scholarship awards, community service awards, and a fun filled evening. The cost of the Banquet is $40.00 and proceeds from the event go back to support our Charity's Programs. We collected $10,000.00 for our scholarship program for the Class of 2012. Graduating seniors from various schools in Washington State were selected and received a scholarship in the amount of $1000.00 each. Each year, we attempt to increase the number of scholarship recipents based on the amount of funds raised from donations, fundraisers, and grants. Our goal is to sponsor approximately 15 students per year at an average expense of $2,000 per student (to cover a part of tuition). In just the last two years, we have reached the halfway point and by 2015 we should be well in reach of this milestone.

4. Fundraising:

As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, we offer services in competition and that are complementary to other nonprofit organizations. In many cases, we may be one of a couple or one of several organizations that are assisting a student, feeding the homeless and helping the ones in need.. MEPHGCHRAM is committed to providing high quality services to students and low income individuals. To meet our financial objectives, we rely on funds raised through grants and contributions. Your contribution, no matter the size, will assist us in giving a graduating senior a positive step towards their dreams or assist a low income individual in need of temporary assistance.

“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.” (Edward E. Hale)
