Youth can still apply to join the Lacey Youth Council! LYC is an advisory body to the Lacey City Council. This opportunity allows students to have their voice and ideas heard by the City’s leadership.

Any upcoming sophomores, juniors, or seniors attending public, private, or home schools in the Lacey area are encouraged to apply. As part of the LYC, selected students will:

- Learn about local government.
- Provide feedback to the City on a variety of topics.
- Participate in community projects.
- Meet new people.
- Earn 30+ hours of community service OR a stipend of $50 per meeting attended, up to $500 a year... and more!

Orca 🫍 Bin Wash is looking for an intern!

Here's the scoop: we're looking for a motivated high school or college student (or recent grad) with a car, a driver's license, and a people-friendly personality. The job involves an early 6 AM start at our shop in Kent and loading up four Segways in the trunk of intern's car. Then they are off to an assigned neighborhood to apply oversized Post-it notes onto the trash bins of perspective customers. Some of you are familiar with this because that may be how you heard about us last summer!

It is a full-time job for all of summer, Monday - Friday, though you do get rainy days off as Post-its don’t stick to wet bins. Strong people skills are a must as you get lots of questions from curious passerby’s. It’s a great opportunity for someone who likes being outdoors and talking to people. We're a small, fun company and we take good care of our team. If your son, daughter, or someone you know might be interested, just reply to this email or have them reach out to me directly.
