We are rebuilding Our Ark — and we are looking for young leaders, college students, creatives, advocates, and people with heart to help shape the future of youth homelessness support in Thurston County.

This is more than volunteering.

This is movement-building.

Every week we meet young people who are:
• sleeping outside
• aging out without support
• trying to finish school while homeless
• working jobs but still unable to afford housing
• carrying trauma while trying to survive

And we refuse to believe they should face that alone.

We are looking for individuals who want to help through:
🏠 Host home support
🎒 Street outreach
🍝 Meal preparation & community dinners
📱 Social media & storytelling
🎥 Photography/video content
🧡 Peer mentoring
📋 Administrative support
🎤 Advocacy & public awareness campaigns
🎓 Campus outreach teams
🤝 Volunteer coordination

Whether you can give 2 hours a week or want to grow into leadership, there is a place for you here.

Students needing:

There is still a critical need for street outreach teams to help end and prevent youth homelessness.

Many young people will never walk into an office asking for help — support must reach them where they are. Outreach teams build trust, provide resources, connect youth to housing and services, and help prevent deeper homelessness before it happens.

We are also actively recruiting volunteers who want to make a direct impact in the lives of youth and young adults experiencing homelessness.

Outreach saves lives. Prevention matters.

ISO Street Outreach Workers

🚨🚨🚨❤️❤️💜💜💜Street outreach is more than handing out supplies. It is building trust with unsheltered youth and young adults who often feel invisible, unsafe, and alone.

Outreach workers respond to crisis situations, provide food and hygiene supplies, help youth access shelter or host homes, connect them to services, and most importantly — remind them that someone still cares.

Sometimes the first step toward housing starts with one conversation on a sidewalk, at a park, or under a bridge.❤️❤️❤️💜💜🚨🚨

🚨 Host Family Needed Immediately 🚨

A young person in our community is currently looking for a safe and stable host family. This is not just about housing — it’s about giving a youth hope, support, consistency, and a chance to breathe without fear of where they will sleep next.

Many of these young people are trying to stay in school, maintain employment, heal from family conflict, or simply survive while navigating homelessness and instability. A caring home environment can change the direction of a life.

If you have:
A safe spare room or space
Patience and compassion
A heart for helping youth and young adults experiencing homelessness
Please consider reaching out.

You do not have to be perfect. You just have to care. ❤️

To every mother… 🌷

Today we honor the women who hold families together through exhaustion, sacrifice, heartbreak, and unconditional love. We honor the mothers raising children with little support, the mothers working multiple jobs, the mothers grieving, the foster moms, host moms, grandmothers, and the women who step in when a young person has nowhere else to go.

At Our ARK, we see every day how powerful a caring woman can be in the life of a young person. Sometimes a warm meal, a safe room, a phone call, or simply hearing “you matter” can change the direction of someone’s life.

To the mothers of youth struggling, surviving, healing, and trying to find their way — we see you too. Parenting is not easy, especially when life itself has been hard.

And to the young people spending Mother’s Day missing their mom, separated from family, or carrying pain quietly… you are not forgotten today.
Happy Mother’s Day to the women who love fiercely, give endlessly, and continue showing up even when nobody sees the weight they carry. 💐

At this time I knew we needed hope. There have been moments unsheltered young people cant fund that hope. Today we give that to them by showing up in places meeting them where they are at. Today we welcome love , care, and hope. Spread kindness to all.

Street outreach is not just about handing out supplies—it’s about meeting people where they are and creating a pathway toward stability, safety, and hope. Its purpose is both immediate and long-term, addressing urgent needs while building relationships that lead to lasting change.

At its core, street outreach exists to engage individuals experiencing homelessness—especially youth and young adults—in their environment, whether that’s on the streets, in encampments, or in unstable housing situations like couch surfing.

Immediate Survival & Basic Needs

Connection to Services & Resources
Outreach serves as a bridge to critical services such as:

Emergency shelter and host homes
Rapid Rehousing (RRH) programs
Mental health and substance use services
Medical care and case management
Employment and education support
