Preaching love and compassion is easy, but putting them to work is a whole other story. Chris Hyde, you and your team and volunteers have been showing us what genuine compassion looks like. You walk the walk and talk the talk. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity! Getting the support needed to run a program like ours, especially as a Black and immigrant-led organization, is tremendously hard. Thank you for being a good ally in this work!

Culturally appropriate food boxes 📦 delivered yesterday! Shout out to our partners helping us. This is one of the many areas where we need support. Please share and donate if you’re able to help us keep this direct support going: https://www.womensdignityschool.org

Friends, this work is very close to my heart ♥️ and very personal. As an immigrant myself, I can relate to what many families are going through. Donations currently benefit, and will continue to benefit, people in places like Lewis County and beyond. Not only do we partner with other organizations to serve our overburdened immigrant communities facing food insecurity, housing, and other essential needs, we are personally making direct deliveries to impacted families in the South Sound. Donations are the only thing keeping this work going. We don’t have grants to support it. We need generous support and contributions from community members, so please, if you’re able to give, do so. And if not, please consider sharing this with someone who cares about this kind of work. Thanks! 🙏🏿

As we shared before, we're shifting our fundraising to ongoing instead of emergency-only, because the need isn't going away. We would love to invite you to join us in standing with our immigrant neighbors in the South Sound. We're keeping the funding as flexible as possible so we can meet families where they are. The most urgent needs right now are masa, water, and cleaning supplies. We also help with utilities and rent on a case-by-case basis when it makes sense.

If you're able, please use the QR code or https://www.womensdignityschool.org to donate. Every contribution helps us keep showing up. Thank you for trusting us with this work. Share this with anyone in your circle who might want to help.

Women’s Dignity School is hosting our very first West African Cultural Event, and we’d love for you to come.

Saturday, August 8th, 11 AM to 2 PM at Huntamer Park in Lacey. We’re partnering with Manimou Camara, a master drummer and dancer from Guinea who now leads Dounia Djembe in Seattle, along with his team of performers. It will be an opportunity to learn authentic dance steps straight from the source, and taste our beloved West African classic peanut butter sauce, known as Tiga Deguè Nah in Mali 🇲🇱. You don’t need any experience. Just show up ready to move.

This one means a lot to us. It’s our first event of its kind, and it’s a chance to share a piece of West African culture with our beloved community members in South Sound, Washington State. Bring your family, bring your friends.

Hope to see you there.

As always, a huge shout out to our sponsor: City of Lacey, Washington - Government.

Thank you. 🙏🏿
