As demand continues to rise, limiting property tax growth can also limit how emergency services are funded over time.

So how do we protect both—our residents and our level of service?

Training never stops for our firefighters.

The last two weeks crews have spent time sharpening their skills, practicing real-world scenarios, and working together to ensure they’re ready when our community needs them most. Ongoing training improves response times, enhances safety, and helps us provide the highest level of emergency service possible.

We’re forever grateful that there were no serious injuries or fatalities during this destructive storm that occurred in darkness.

The ensuing response also exemplifies our Professional Fire Fighters dedication to its residents. EVERY piece of equipment was staffed with firefighters responding from one incident to the next. Nearly EVERY firefighter our district employs was involved in the response. A true testament to our unwavering commitment to our community everyday. IAFF Local 2665 7th District IAFF 2nd District

The March 14 tornado that left a path of destruction through the heart of our will be etched in our minds for years to come. While many within our district experienced damage to their homes and property, miraculously, there was no loss of life. That in itself is a true blessing.

We know some are still recovering and working to rebuild. However, as was clearly shown that night and in the days that followed, we are a resilient community. We will continue to lean on one another to ensure we come back stronger than ever.

We are truly the lucky ones to work, live, and serve in this community.

Exciting times for our members.

2 new engine companies beginning production that will enhance firefighter safety and efficiency on the fireground.

This would not be possible without the tireless efforts of our apparatus committee, Chief officers and board of directors - and the continued support from our residents.

Our new Assistant Shop Steward attended this seminar to learn about their roles and responsibilities, as well as bringing information back to the shop members to keep them apprised of the extraordinary work being done at the local and state level on their behalf.

We had another great Shop Stewards Training at the Hall today. Nearly 100 labor leaders took time to sharpen their skills, share knowledge, and strengthen the work we do for our members. This is what building a stronger union looks like.

Every year, your Boles Firefighters “adopt” a family within the boundaries of our community who might need a little extra help around Christmas time. Our shop members put their own money towards giving the selected family a memorable holiday.

Today, B shift members met with our family to disperse presents and some Christmas cheer. They were most appreciative!
