If you are wanting to enter your name for upcoming club elections on September 12th—read the information below:

Attention to all active HCC members!!

Have you ever considered throwing your hat in the ring to be a nominee for a HCC Board Member position?

There are 3 board seat positions that are up for grabs due to board seat terms expiring next month.

August is the month we reach out for any HCC members who are interested in nominating themselves to join a board who works hard at keeping this club alive and collaborates together to provide our members with the best opportunities as possible.

Do you have fresh ideas that you would like to have the ability to bring forward and work with a board to possibly make those ideas a reality?
Seriously consider nominating yourself!

⏰DEADLINE: Nominations will be accepted starting today, August 10th until 11:59pm on Monday August 31st.⏰

🚨REQUIREMENTS:
➡️Must be a current HCC member in good standing with the club.
➡️Must be able to attend monthly board meetings. The board meets once a month. Online option to attend meeting is available.
➡️Must be available to assist with various events the club puts on throughout the year.
➡️Must be dependable.
➡️Must be a team player.

To place your name as a nominee on the election ballot next month, please contact Club Secretary, Amy Brown via text @ 574-360-9251.

The 2026 Powder Puff Tournament is in the books! 30 anglers from 9 boats participated this year.
- Congrats to Dee Dee White of team Stroke Of Luck on bringing in the first place fish - an 18.75lb King!
- Congrats to team Killin Time on winning the Captain's Side Pot with a 57.85lb 5 fish box!
- Special thank you to Beaver’s Lures for providing some goodies for our boat Captains this year!

The HCC Powder Puff Tournament is this Saturday!

On Saturday, July 11, the ladies take over Lake Michigan. The guys can set the rods and grab the net—but when a fish hits, it's all up to the women.

Whether you're chasing your first salmon or looking to top the leader board, this is your day.

🏆 100% payout to the Top 10 finishers
🎣 $25 entry per female angler
🚤 Fish from Michigan City or Portage
🍕 Pizza and soft drinks provided weigh-in
💰 $50 Captain's side bet available
📋 All Captains must be member of the Hoosier Coho Club

Update - the 2026 Port to Port Challenge brought in a whopping $5,456 for the Hatchery Fund! Huge thank you to our title sponsor Stevens Marine, all of the teams who participated, and everyone who came to the weigh in / after party event to participate in raffles and donations!!!

The 2026 Port to Port Challenge is in the books! Huge thank you to Stevens Marine for sponsoring this awesome fundraising event for the Indiana DNR Hatcheries!

Thank you to all of the Portage and Michigan City teams who competed!

Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets and contributed to the pass the hat (trophy)!

We’ve still got some counting to do but this event has once again raised substantial funds - we’ll post an update in the next day or so with a full tally.

Results:
Portage - 76.85 lbs
Michigan City - 93.20 lbs

The 5th Annual Port to Port Challenge presented by Stevens Marine is only a of couple days away!

This is a great fundraising event for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Hatcheries - All proceeds go to the Hatchery Fund!

Weigh in / after party is open to the Public. Fun starts at 3 PM at the Pavilion behind Fish Camp. Weigh in will begin at 4 PM.

- Complimentary Taco Bar catered by El Cantarito Michigan City courtesy of Stevens Marine
- Complimentary water and soft drinks
- Lots of raffle items donated by local businesses and individuals - all proceeds go to the Hatchery Fund!

Any boats still wanting to join in should contact Lloyd Trumbo (Portage) or Bruce Brown (Michigan City).
