La Veta Downtown Beautification
Downtown La Veta is looking beautiful this summer season! The flowers are
blooming in front of businesses and the large planters and hanging baskets are
providing a colorful display on the street. Thankfully, the rain has finally
arrived in our region.
La Veta Beautification is a collaboration of La Veta residents who wish to
ensure that our town looks cared for and colorful for all of those who reside
here and to welcome our many visitors. LaRissa Morris and the board of
directors head up the project along with 20 dedicated, hard-working
volunteers.
Throughout the summer and into the fall, we maintain and water all of the
flowerpots and hanging baskets in front of downtown businesses. We also care
for the flower beds on Ryus with watering and weeding and we clean the
downtown sidewalks weekly with our leaf blower. Our downtown
beautification program is in its 9th year and is continuing to thrive because of
fantastic volunteers and your generous donations.
Currently, La Veta Beautification is in need of a large donation! Our 1972
Harley Davidson watering cart will need to be replaced in the near future. We
are looking for the funds to purchase a side by side or a golf cart or the
donation of the cart itself. We water daily downtown and the watering cart is
key to the success of the program.

LaVeta Beautification will be having its fundraising end of season sale
on geraniums in front of the Bachman office in LaVeta. The sale will start
Monday after the October festival. We will have the 10 large pots from
the Yacht Club for sale as well as the hanging geranium baskets
downtown LaVeta and a few other misc flowers.
