🧡 Today is Hunger Action Day. One Day. One Purpose. One Community.
Every year during Hunger Action Month, communities across the country come together for Hunger Action Day—a day dedicated to raising awareness that hunger affects millions of Americans, including our neighbors right here in Huerfano County.
The movement began as part of Feeding America's national Hunger Action Month campaign, encouraging people to take meaningful action to help end hunger. While food banks and pantries work year-round to provide meals and resources, lasting change happens when entire communities come together to support one another.
Hunger isn't always visible. It may affect a senior living on a fixed income, a working family facing rising grocery costs, a veteran, or a child who relies on school meals. For many, asking for help is one of the hardest things they'll ever do.
That's why Hunger Action Day matters.
It's a reminder that each of us has the power to make a difference.
You can make a financial donation that keeps our programs operating.
You can advocate for policies that strengthen food security.
You can share this message to raise awareness.
You can encourage others to support local hunger relief efforts.
At La Veta Village Food Services, we believe no one in our community should have to wonder where their next meal will come from. Every donation helps us continue providing food, Mobile Markets, and essential resources throughout the greater La Veta area.
Today, we invite you to take one action—big or small. Together, those actions create stronger, healthier communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Together, we can help end hunger—one neighbor, one meal, and one act of kindness at a time.
