‘‘Twas the night before Winterfest, when all through the town.

Many people were stirring, making lots of strange sounds.

The star was hung on the city tree with care,
In hopes Frosty and Santa would soon be there.

The children were ready with sweaters of red, While visions of winning the fun run danced in their heads.

And Mamma wanting craft booths and
I wanting a snack,
We’ll soon settle in to eat yummy food from a sack.

When out on the lawn
What should appear, but a Winter Carnival and around the block
Wagon rides with a horse, not reindeer.

With a pageant coming so lively and great,
I knew in a moment it would soon be Suzy Snowflake.

More rapid than eagles the activities came.
And I whistled and shouted and called them by name:

On Talentfest, On Gingerbread House, On Nativities and Co****le . On Bingo, on Winter Wee Ones, on decorating cookies until Santa’s full.

To the Light Parade, to watch Fireworks fall.
Now dash to LaVerkin, Dash to LaVerkin ALL.

And on their way they all flew, like the down of a thistle.

But I heard them exclaim, ere they came into sight.
