🐴 Calling All Helping Hands! 🐴
Tomorrow (Thursday, March 5th) is Farrier Day, and we have a full list of horses that need attention. Our team could really use a few extra volunteers to help things run smoothly.
We’ll get started at 9:00 AM. If you’re able to stop by and lend a hand — even if it’s just for a little while — it would make a big difference. We need help holding horses, helping move them when it’s their turn, and keeping things organized.
To keep everyone going:
☕ Hot coffee and fresh donuts will be ready in the morning
🌶️ Chili with all the fixings will be served for lunch

What happens if we don’t fill the room?

It’s a question we have to ask, because for us, the Gala isn’t just a dinner: it’s the engine that powers our mission all year long. When a seat stays empty, it’s not just about the ticket. It’s about the mental health assessment that doesn’t happen. It’s about the veteran facing homelessness who might have to wait another night for a safe place to sleep. It’s about the food pantry delivery that doesn’t make it to a rural doorstep.

We’ve already walked alongside 11 families just since January, and we’re currently supporting over 89 veterans and 223 of their family members. The need in our rural Wisconsin towns is real, and it’s growing. We can't afford to slow down now.

We need you in that room with us. We need your voice, your support, and your heart to help us keep this momentum going. Ticket sales have been extended one last time through February 25th. This is it: the final push. Help us light the path so no veteran has to walk it alone.

🐴 Unique Volunteer Opportunity – October 9th!
We’ve got a big day planned at the farm, and we’d love for you to join us!

📅 Date: Thursday, October 9th 2025
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM start

Our farrier will be here for Farrier Day, and we’ll also be welcoming students from Chicago Tech Lab High School. They’ll be helping with farm clean-up and projects, and we’ll need extra hands to make the day a success. Some volunteers will help with farrier activities, while others will work on farm projects.

Walking into my interview, I know this moment is about so much more than myself.
I walk in for the veteran who fears his story will be forgotten, and for the families who leave an empty seat at the table in honor of their loved one’s sacrifice.
I walk in carrying the lessons of resilience, courage, and service that our veterans and military families have taught me.
This is not just competition; it is a chance to honor their legacy, to spark hope, and to call others to action.
No matter the outcome, I will continue to tell their stories, reminding our nation of the price of freedom, and standing as an advocate for those who have given our country so much.
