Since LAHSโ€™s founding over 10 years ago, Linda Crawford has served as either President or Vice-President of the organization. Throughout those years, Linda served as THE mover and shaker of the organization. All of our projects, memorials, activities, and meetings are forever linked to her.

Just this week, Linda packed up her house and moved across the country to be closer to her son. To say that she will be missed is an understatement! Perhaps the hardest part of her last few months was the work to shut down the LaSalle Area Historical Society. Always an emotional topic, Linda (and the remaining membership) went about the task and got it done. One of the last activities for LAHS is the dedication of the First Responders Memorial at the LaSalle Fire House on Saturday the 19th at 9am. Though Linda has left, she will be there in spirit.

Anyone who is able, you are invited to attend the short ceremony just after Union Pacific 4014 roars through town at 8am and just before the LaSalle Days Parade starts at 10am. Come by if you can!

LaSalle loses a Grand Dame who had the history of our town FIRST in her thoughts. We will miss her immensely and wish her God Speed and success in her new adventure!

John R. Cochran, III
President of LAHS

Union Pacificโ€™s restored 4014 Big Boy is scheduled to come through LaSalle (Main Street Crossing) on Thursday about 1215pm (going to Denver) and then come back North on LaSalle Day Saturday about 815am.
Always a big event, the largest operational steam engine in the United States is something to see!

Make sure that you stand back at least 25 feet and do not put anything on the rails. The Engine and Heritage Cars will come through the LaSalle Yard at speed. If you are near the crossing, be careful and watchful for the train!
