What an amazing weekend in the Village Of Cedar Point IL! š
Thank you to everyone who came out to donate, enter raffles, dance, eat, laugh, volunteer, and celebrate life in support of our cause. Your presence made the 23rd Annual Cops 4 Cancer Summer Event truly unforgettable.
Entertainment
Our stage featured some of the best talent in the area, including Harmonix, Blind Mice, Midnight 30, Jon Swags Music, Radium City Rebels, and Vehicle. The final act took the stage earlier than contracted and delivered a riveting nearly two-and-a-half-hour performance. The Stolen Winnebagos, from Kansas City, closed out the weekend in style, while Ladd Sound Production made sure the lights and sound were perfect.
Volunteers and Food
Our dedicated crew of volunteers kept everything running like a well-oiled machine. They sold apparel and tickets, served drinks, stocked coolers, collected trash, grilled more than 1,200 burgers, brats, and hot dogs, and served food with the energy and heart of absolute rock stars. Everywhere you turned, there was a smile. Many of these volunteers give their time as survivors themselves or as loved ones of someone touched by this dreadful disease.
Mareta Ravioli also cooked their famous tortellini and meat sauce (ravs and sauce) right in the park for our guests. Impressively, they prepared more than 100 pounds of tortellini and 100 pounds of sauce. Four Star Family Restaurant provided more than 400 pieces of their delicious fried chicken. Olive Garden baked up bread sticks. Marchelloniās delivered pizzas multiple times throughout the day. Walmart Distribution Center donated soda and had a phenomenal crew of volunteers who worked the entire day. Dresbachās kept our guests and volunteers hydrated with plenty of water.
Community Partners
Before and during the event, so many partners helped make the weekend possible. Olsen Trucking donated $10,000 bringing their six year total to over $65,000. Rudy's Liquors did an amazing job as our official apparel and ticket location selling more than $5,200 worth of gear, and Creative Apparel works so hard to make sure our apparel is just perfect and perfectly priced so we can offer up the best C4C gear. Johannes Bus Service - PERU donated an air-conditioned shuttle allowing our guests to travel safely from LaSalle, Peru, and Cerri Memorial Park on a continuous loop for two days.
United Rentals donated equipment including a generator and a much-needed industrial size grill that helped the event run smoothly, and Advanced Sanitation provided clean portable restrooms and wash stations. Aiden Kurrle and Skyler Steinbach, teenage best friends, presented a check for $2000 for a zucchini bread bake sale they held. The Steinberg family donated over $5,000 between a beautiful raffle item and cash donation. JB Contracting provided comfortable spaces for our banking team and artists.
A special thank you to the Village of Cedar Point for providing an amazing home for C4C. Mayor Kevin LaFollette steps in and steps up all weekend long. It is such a special place with special neighbors for us.
Throughout the park, thank-you banners were visible in every direction, a powerful reminder of the incredible community we are fortunate to call home.
Fundraising Update
Thanks to everyoneās hard work and support, we are just shy of $100,000 for the entire fundraising drive. This speaks volumes about where we live and who we do life with. Our hearts are full, and we are truly amazed by this beautiful community.
