We are looking for anyone who may have security camera footage facing the golf course construction area. If you have any footage, please contact the HOA Board through Messenger.

We have received notice that someone entered the barricaded construction area, accessed the golf course, and caused damage. We are trying to identify the person responsible and would appreciate any video footage or information that may assist us.

Thank you for your help and cooperation.

SCUP - 2026 - 0001
Just a heads up for everyoneβ€”if you haven’t already seen the signs across the street, this development is scheduled to go back before City Council on Monday.
If you’re still opposed and haven’t submitted your opposition, please consider attending the meeting and making your voice heard.
As a reminder, this property is planned to drain into our retention pond. The proposed entrance is across from Fairway Drive, although some of the paperwork inconsistently references Fairmont Greens. Additionally, the developer is pushing back on installing a taller sound wall, despite concerns that an eight-foot wall may not provide adequate buffering.
Your participation matters, especially on issues that directly impact our neighborhood.

🚧 Retention Pond Work Has Officially Begun 🚧

Hello Lakes at Fairmont Greens residents,

Contractors are now in the neighborhood and have officially started work on the retention pond.

If you were unable to attend the meeting on the 16th, here’s a quick overview of what to expect:

Crews will be excavating areas of the pond that are currently too shallow.

Existing basins within the pond will be removed.

These improvements are designed to enhance water flow and help reduce the risk of flooding in our neighborhoodβ€”especially with the new development to the north

⏱️ The project is expected to take approximately 3 months, weather permitting.

πŸ’‘ Important to note: This project is strictly to repair and improve the pond. It is not being funded by HOA dues. This effort was coordinated through your Board along with the City of La Porte.

We appreciate your patience as this important work gets underway and helps protect our community long-term.

Tonight is the planning and zoning meeting.

🚨 Neighborhood Update – Planning & Zoning Meeting January 15th 🚨

Neighbors,

The attached Planning & Zoning agenda shows that the developer will be back before the Planning and Zoning Commission on January 15th to continue pushing forward with the proposed subdivision across the street from our neighborhood.

A few important updates to be aware of:
βœ… Entrance relocation:
The developer did move the subdivision entrance, so it is no longer directly across from our main entrance. That change is reflected in the current drawings.
⚠️ Outstanding concerns still NOT addressed:
Despite City Council sending this application back, there are still major items missing:
β€’ No drainage impact analysis has been provided showing how stormwater runoff from this new subdivision could affect our neighborhood or properties south of us, including existing lakes and drainage systems.
β€’ No noise or sound wall impact analysis has been provided for the 12-foot sound wall that City Council specifically asked the developer to study and explain.

These are critical issues that affect flooding risk, noise, property protection, and long-term quality of life for both current residents and future homeowners.

If you are able, please consider attending or following the Planning & Zoning meeting on January 15th. Staying informed and engaged is important as this process moves forward.

More updates to come.

Please take note of the road and long term ramp closures in our area.

Please take note of the road and long term ramp closures in our area.

🚧 SH 146 LANE CLOSURES 🚧
The SH146 northbound main lanes will be closed continuously from 8:00pm Friday 1/9/26 to 5:00am Monday 1/12/26. This closure is to move concrete barriers and re-stripe the roadway as part
of a new traffic pattern that will allow the existing northbound main lanes to be widened and reconstructed.
Northbound traffic will be detoured off the freeway at Wharton Weems and will be able to re-enter after Spencer Hwy.
Officers will be present to provide traffic control.

⚠️ As part of this new traffic pattern, the following ramps will be closed long-term while they are reconstructed:
SH146 NB entrance ramp from Wharton Weems
SH146 NB entrance ramp from Fairmont
SH146 NB exit ramp to Spencer Hwy

TxDOT is coordinating to adjust the traffic signal timing at the intersection of SH146 and Fairmont Pkwy, if needed, to best accommodate the new traffic pattern.

We wanted to let you all know we are aware of the color of the water and have been in contact with the city. They have investigated and found the source at Port Crossing. It is paint and non hazardous. Pollution control and TCEQ are investigating the incident and will take the appropriate action.
