We had a great night at the Lions Club with Mike Hutson joining us as our guest speaker 🇺🇸
Mike did an outstanding job sharing his knowledge and passion for Iowa’s Civil War history, highlighting stories of local soldiers and bringing history to life. We truly appreciate him taking the time to speak with us and share such an interesting presentation.

A big thank you as well to Dee and Dick Hutton for the fantastic meal 🍽️
The ham balls, cheesy potatoes, green beans, and cake were all a huge hit! 😄

Reminder blood drive will be 4/8/26 💉🩸

During the meeting, we also passed a motion to move forward with constructing a new sign coming into town off the Brandon blacktop 🪧
We discussed the upcoming flag program 🇺🇸 and talked about offering a cashless option for Festival of Trails 💳

A productive night with great food, a great speaker, and good things in the works for our community! 💪

Do YOU want a sample of Beau Timmerman Music before Festival of Trails? Come out to the La Porte City Golf Club for the fundraiser tournament on April 25th and catch him live from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM! 🎶

He’ll be playing your favorite country tunes and giving everyone a preview of what’s to come.

This event is open to the public, so even if you’re not golfing, come join us! We’ll have a meal available and the full menu open, so come hungry and thirsty. 🍔🍻

Best of all, all proceeds go back to the club, so you can enjoy a great night of music while supporting a great local cause.

DON’T MISS OUT — FLAGS OVER LPC 2026 🇺🇸

If you haven’t signed up yet for the La Porte City Lions Club Flag Program, now’s the time.

For just $50 per year, we take care of everything ~ installation, placement, pickup, Iowa One Call, and a permanent ground sleeve that sits flush so mowing isn’t a headache. You just enjoy seeing Old Glory flying proudly in your yard for five major holidays.

Spots are limited and the deadline is May 1st. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

This program helps fund local Lions projects and community initiatives right here in La Porte City. It’s one of the simplest ways to show pride in our country and invest back into our town at the same time.

🦁 Lions Club Meeting Recap: 2-25-25
We had a full agenda and a lot of good momentum moving forward in La Porte City.

📚 La Porte City Public Library
Jake Rochford joined us to share updates on the Nourished Reader Project, along with future food programs and upcoming library events. Great things happening over there — and it’s exciting to see continued growth in programs that serve our community.

🇺🇸 Flag Program
We’re sitting at around 50 new subscribers and pushing toward our 300-flag goal. A workday will be coming up soon to get posts installed and organized. If you’ve been meaning to sign up, now’s the time.

🎉 Festival of Trails - La Porte City Iowa
Planning continues and social media reach has already generated tens of thousands of views. Events, locations, and logistics are being finalized. This year is shaping up to be a big one.

🍖 Rib Festies Recap
Another successful event with strong participation. Thank you to everyone who competed and helped put it together. Early conversations for next year are already happening.

🩸 Blood Drive
20 donors and 26 pints collected. Solid turnout — and we know we can grow it even more next time.

🍽️ Thank You, Thriftway Foods
A big thank you to Thriftway for supplying tonight’s meal — meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes, and poke cake for dessert. Safe to say no one left hungry.
