“Honoring the heroes whose sacrifices protect the freedom to learn, grow, and serve.”

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Tribute 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends, may we also take a moment to reflect on those who gave all for the liberties we enjoy each day.

We remember. We honor. We are forever grateful. ❤️🤍💙

Their sacrifice. Our freedom. Never forgotten.

🎉🍰Sweet Success for a Great Cause!🍰🎉

Today’s bake sale at the Waldorf Elks Lodge was a wonderful success! The Charles County Literacy Council was proud to be part of the Waldorf Lions Club’s Bull & Oyster Roast from 12 PM – 4 PM, and the support from the community was truly amazing. 🙌🏽

From delicious homemade treats to smiling faces and meaningful conversations, every purchase helped support our mission to promote literacy and empower adult learners in our community. 📚✨

💛 A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our incredible volunteer bakers who donated their time and talents — your treats were a hit! And a special thank you to The Honey Bun Bakery (Bryans Road, MD) for your generous support and delicious contributions.

We also extend our appreciation to the Waldorf Lions Club and the Elks Lodge for the opportunity to serve alongside you.

Together, we are making a difference — one bite and one adult learner at a time!

We are here to serve! Thanks Charles County Sheriff's Office for the platform to provide support for this program!

✨Success Story Spotlight | Charles County Literacy Council✨

This is why we do what we do! 💙

We recently received an inspiring update from one of our dedicated tutors supporting an adult ESL learner.

When she first began, she expressed real concerns about her conversational English skills and how it might impact her future opportunities.

Today, we’re proud to share…her hard work paid off! 🎉

She has secured a new job exactly where she wanted to be and is thriving!

This is more than a milestone. This is transformation.
This is confidence restored. This is CCLC’s purpose in action.

👏🏼Congratulations to both tutor and learner on achieving this incredible goal!

📚 Want to be part of stories like this? Join us as a tutor, volunteer, or supporter and help change lives—one learner at a time.
