The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Southern Maryland Chapter (NCBW100, SOMD), held its third induction ceremony on September 27 to welcome a diverse group of strong, dedicated, and hard-working women into its sisterhood. NCBW100, SOMD represents women across Southern Prince George’s, Southern Anne Arundel, Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary’s Counties, all united by a passion for advocating for equality and empowering Black women and girls.

Through our advocacy efforts, we work as change agents to influence policies that promote gender equity in health, education, and economic empowerment. We believe that through these efforts, we can achieve our vision of a world where Black women and girls no longer face socio-economic inequity.

On Saturday, July 19th, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women hosted its Community Health & Wellness Fair at the River Church of Southern Maryland in Waldorf, MD.

Participating partners were on hand to discuss a range of health needs and resources available to the community. The event offered attendees the opportunity to engage with health professionals, learn about preventative care, and connect with wellness services.

Community leaders were also in attendance, welcoming residents and supporting the coalition’s mission to promote health equity. Guests were warmly greeted by event hosts and had the chance to engage in some meaningful dialogue about local health concerns and initiatives.
