Wow... I haven't watched this in a few years.
Now that the tournament has officially come to an end, it feels bittersweet looking back at everything we accomplished. Over the past 10 years, we poured our blood, sweat, and tears into keeping David Taylor Jr.'s memory alive, and I couldn't be more proud that we made it happen.
This year, we awarded two more incredible student-athletes with the David Taylor Jr. Memorial Scholarship. It made it even more special knowing these were two of the young people who helped keep the tournament running over the years.
As Davey heads off this fall to play college baseball, he'll continue carrying his dad's legacy with him. There is no greater gift than seeing #36 continue to inspire the next generation.
While the tournament has ended, our mission hasn't. We are still raising funds to keep the scholarship alive for years to come. If you'd like to support this cause, we are still accepting donations.
Next summer, we're excited to continue the tradition in a new way with a dunk tank fundraiser, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and maybe even a few more surprises... because All Roads Lead Home.
#36 lives on. His legacy will never be forgotten, and we will continue investing in the youth of La Pine for years to come. 🩷

Congratulations to this year's David Taylor Jr. Memorial Scholarship recipients, Brody Smith and Jade Seymour!
Both Brody and Jade have been involved since day one, always willing to lend a hand, support others, and give back to their community. Their leadership, dedication, and positive impact on those around them truly embody the values this scholarship was created to honor.

We couldn't be more proud of the young adults they have become and are excited to see all they accomplish in the future.

In this photo, you'll see our incredible recipients alongside my children, who represent exactly what this scholarship is all about-community, friendship, service, and carrying forward a legacy of kindness. Our son, Davey, is also a graduating senior this year, and it was especially meaningful for him to help present this scholarship. He is incredibly proud of his friends, Brody and Jade, and all they have accomplished.

Big Davey was a huge part of our lives, and through this scholarship, his memory continues to live on. We will always honor, cherish, and celebrate the impact he had on so many people. Seeing young leaders like Brody and Jade carry forward those same values makes this scholarship even more special.

This year’s scholarships will hold a very deep meaning!

They will be awarded to athletes who had the privilege of playing under Davey as their coach, and/or alongside his son (Little Davey) in the game they all love. There’s something incredibly special about seeing his legacy continue through these young athletes, on and off the field.

Today we celebrate David Taylor Jr. on what would have been his 41st birthday.

It’s hard to believe it has been 10 years since we last saw him, sang happy birthday, and celebrated the incredible person he was. Life doesn’t always feel fair, and his absence is still deeply felt, throughout our baseball community, friends, and most of all by his son & family.

Davey had a heart of gold. He was the kind of person who would give anything to help someone else, who loved deeply, and showed up for everyone around him. That’s the legacy he left behind, and one we will continue to carry forward.

As his son prepares to graduate and step into the next chapter of life, we’re reminded how quickly time moves, even as we hold tightly to the memories that matter most.

Today, and always, we honor him. We remember him. We keep his spirit alive.
