✨ Remembering Margaret Kerry ✨

The La Mirada Symphony joins countless fans around the world in remembering Margaret Kerry, the actress and dancer whose performance helped inspire Disney's original Tinker Bell.

Many people know Margaret as the live-action reference model for Tinker Bell in Disney's 1953 classic *Peter Pan*, but those who had the privilege of meeting her knew her as a gracious storyteller, a passionate advocate for the arts, and a wonderful ambassador for animation history.

We were honored to welcome Margaret backstage at the La Mirada Symphony in February 2019. Her warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine love for sharing her experiences left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Margaret's work helped bring to life one of the most beloved characters in animation history, inspiring generations of dreamers to believe in a little faith, trust, and pixie dust. Her legacy will continue to shine through the art she helped create and the countless lives she touched along the way.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

At the La Mirada Symphony, we believe great music should be accessible to everyone. That's why every concert is free to attend, thanks to the support of our community, donors, volunteers, and audiences who continue to make live orchestral music possible.

🎶 Looking for something fun to do this summer?

The City of La Mirada's Concerts Under the Stars series returns beginning Thursday, June 11, and continues through August 6 at Neff Park. Gather your family and friends for evenings filled with live music, great food, and community fun.

This year's series features a variety of musical styles, from funk and soul to 80s favorites, rockabilly, island fusion, country, and more. Arrive early and explore the La Mirada Night Market, featuring food vendors, treats, and local favorites before the music begins. Concerts are free and open to the community. Music starts at 6:30 p.m., with Night Market vendors opening at 5:00 p.m.

We love seeing live music bring our community together and encourage everyone to support the many arts and entertainment opportunities available throughout La Mirada this summer.

For La Mirada Symphony French horn player, composer, author, and educator Link Harnsberger, that moment came when he saw a Beatles' album cover—and it helped shape a lifetime devoted to music.

🇺🇸🎻 LIVE MUSIC. COMMUNITY. HISTORY IN THE MAKING.

The La Mirada Symphony is proud to participate in the City of La Mirada’s America’s 250th Celebration on Saturday, June 6, with a special chamber ensemble performance at Civic Center Plaza.

This special citywide event brings the community together for an evening of patriotic music, food vendors, live entertainment, and a drone light show celebrating 250 years of American history. As part of the celebration, five La Mirada Symphony musicians will perform live patriotic selections in the heart of the city.

While this is not a full orchestra concert, it reflects something deeply important to our mission: bringing live music beyond the concert hall and into the community.

We believe music belongs everywhere — in theatres, parks, civic gatherings, and shared public spaces where families, neighbors, and future generations come together. Events like this remind us that symphonic music is not only something to watch, but something to experience together as a community.

Join us for an evening of celebration, connection, and live music under the summer sky.
