The San Diego USBC and the Avocado 200 Club have teamed up to provide a Bowl for the Cure Tournament. It will be on Sunday, October 5, starting at 10am. It will be open to anyone that would like to support the Susan G Komen Foundation for breast cancer research. The tournament will be a handicapped 9 pin No Tap format and will be hosted by Mira Mesa Lanes. We will also have auction items and other item for sell. The sign up forms will be available at your centers within a few days. This is open to San Diego USBC and North County USBC bowlers and anyone else that would like to help. See you at the tournament.

The San Diego USBC held the Award Dinner on Saturday, August 2, 2025. It was at Anchors Catering and Convention Center on Naval Base San Diego. Everyone had a great time. We had Chicken and Salmon for dinner and it was very good. We presented 2 Distinguished Service Awards, Bob Rutkowski and Ronnie Weber were the recipients. We also presented the All Star teams and Bowlers of the Year awards. The Women’s All Star team was, Tara Atkins, Keyahndra Cannon, Erica Pursell, Kayla Ursillo and
Stacie Watson. Stacie Watson was presented with the Women’s Bowler of the Year.
The Senior Women’s All Star team was, Michele Carter, Donna Donohue, Cindy Hopkins, and Laura Hardeman. Cindy Hopkins was the Senior Women’s Bowler of the Year.
The Men’s All Star team was: Jun Ayson, Kyle Havens, Brett Laing, Carl Henson and Brandon Mori. The Men’s Bowler of the Year was Brandon Mori.
The Senior Men’s All Star team was: Jeff Green, Wayne Morris, Tom Ordel, Roy Rogge and Lyle Rollins. Wayne Morris was the Senior Men’s Bowler of the Year.
The Young Men’s All Star team was, Noah Chargualaf, Jarion Flores, Nicholas Lusk, Elias O’Hollaren and Brandon Rother. The Young Men’s Bowler of the Year was Elias O’Hollaren.
The Young Women’s All Star Team was, Katelyn Abigania, Avery
Domaguin, and Lindsay Greim. The Young Women’s Bowler of the Yeas was Avery Domaguin.
The Stars of Tomorrow were, Mikayla Fleet, Derek Flores, Maxwell Fontillas, Jodi Kisseberth and Evan Pittenger.
We would like to congratulate all the award recipients and a big thank you to all that attended.

The San Diego USBC Awards dinner is a month away. Reservation will close on July 15th. The dinner is at Anchors Catering and Conference Center on Naval Base 32nd Street. The San Diego USBC All Star committee has calculated the points for the 2025 All Star Teams. The following individuals have made the teams. We will present them with their award on Saturday August 2nd at Anchors Catering and Conference Center. The information on reservations and cost are on the page and the webpage, sandiegobowling.com. The Bowler of the Year will be announced at the dinner.

The San Diego USBC is proud to introduce the recipients of the 2025 Distinguished Service Award. There are 2 individuals that have proven that they are dedicated to the San Diego USBC. They are Bob Rutkowski and Ron Weber. Both have helped the association keep the high standards of service to the bowlers of San Diego. The USBC Convention is next week, May 5 to May8, 2025. It is in Las Vegas at Southpoint Casino and Hotel. The Association Manager, Don Way will be attending the convention. The San Diego USBC office will be closed. He will have access to email and cell phone. So, if you have a question contact him by those methods. The office will reopen on Tuesday, May13 at 9 am.

The Guys and Gals tournament was on Sunday March 30, 2025. It was
conducted at Parkway Bowl. There were 49 entries total. The
divisions were Women, division 1, 150 and under, and division 2, 151 to 180 averages. The Men’s divisions were, division 1, 165 and under and division 2, 166 to 200. They bowled 3 games for the tournament.
The women’s division 1 winner was Gayle Nguyen, division 2 winner was Cheenee Real. The men’s division 1 winner was Edder Ramirez-Nino and Division 2 winner was Mathew Wray. These are the official results. The checks are available at the office or from Don Way. He is at Mira Mesa Lanes on Monday, Tues and Wednesday nights, at Admiral Robinson on Thursday nights, and Parkway Bowl on Friday nights for league on all nights. The office is open Tuesday thru Thursday 9am to 3pm, if you want to pick it up there.
The tournaments for next year will be on the same weekends, so plan ahead and spread the word. We would like to thank everyone that participated in the tournaments. They all had a great time and we hope to see them next year.

The San Diego USBC annual meeting is set for Sunday, April 13. It will be at the VFW Post 1512, 6873 Federal Blvd, Lemon Grove. The start time will be 1:30 pm. All San Diego USBC members are encouraged to attend. We will cover topic related to the association. Remember to bring your membership card and present it if required.

The SDUSBC Guys and Gals tournament is coming up soon. March 30th at Parkway Bowl. Entry forms are at each center and on the website sandiegobowling.com. You can pay with cash, check or Zelle. Zelle info on the entry form and be sure to send in an entry form if paying by Zelle.

The standings for the SDUSBC Queens and Masters are now official. Here is the payoffs for both. Congratulations to Kayla Ursillo, Queens champion and Drew Wellnitz, Masters champion.
The checks will be available tomorrow as they need to be signed. You can pick up from Don Way and he will deliver to those he can. If someone else needs to pick it up, please give them a note saying it is ok. Again, we would like to thank everyone for participating in the tournament.
