As the end of the year approaches, it is a meaningful time to consider how your charitable giving can make a difference right here at home. 💙

For individuals who are eligible, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) may provide an opportunity to make a gift directly from an IRA to a qualified nonprofit organization, such as the Arkansas Valley Health Foundation.

Wow!!!! What an amazing day!

Thank you to everyone who showed up today. Our riders, volunteers, Otero College Softball, Cottonwood Ridge Assisted Living, DJ Buddy Beezy, American Legion Post 9 La Junta , La Junta Police Department, Colorado State Patrol , La Junta Chamber of Commerce , Auggie’s Market, Visit La Junta, and of course, our generous sponsors!

We had an amazingly successful day and we couldn't have done it without each and every one of you!

Day-of Rider Parking & Access

For Saturday morning rider parking, please approach AVRMC from the south.

Recommended route:
Turn west onto W 14th Street from San Juan Avenue
Turn north onto Carson Avenue
Continue north to the designated Rider Parking lot

The road in front of AVRMC will begin closing at 7:00 AM for the ride.

If you arrive after the closure begins, please let the La Junta Police Department officer at the road closure know that you are a participant in the Tour de Santa Fe Trail Bike Ride so you can be allowed through to rider parking.

Please use the designated rider parking area shown on the attached map and allow yourself enough time to park, unload your bike, and be ready for staging at 7:30 AM.

Please do not use the Employee Parking lots.

🚴 Cyclists on the Road This Saturday!

This Saturday morning, September 26, riders participating in the 2nd Annual Tour de Santa Fe Trail Bike Ride will be traveling through La Junta, Rocky Ford, and the surrounding Arkansas Valley.

The approximately 50-mile ride begins at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center around 8:00 AM and finishes at Santa Fe Plaza Park in downtown La Junta during Tarantula Festival.

Drivers should be especially alert for cyclists along these main roads and highways:

West 5th Street / Hwy 350 (La Junta)
CO Hwy 71 (Rocky Ford)
CO Hwy 10 (Rocky Ford)
Washington Avenue and South Main Street in Rocky Ford
CO Hwy 266
CO Hwy 109
East 22nd Street (La Junta)
West 10th Street (La Junta)
West 2nd Street (La Junta)
Santa Fe Avenue (La Junta)

If you’re driving in the area Saturday morning, please slow down, give cyclists plenty of room when passing, use extra caution at intersections and turns, and be patient if you encounter groups of riders.

Colorado State Patrol will be assisting with route safety and traffic control, and several SAG vehicles will also be traveling the course to support riders.

The Tour de Santa Fe Trail benefits Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center through the Arkansas Valley Health Foundation, helping support high-quality healthcare close to home.
