Want to make a real difference in a child's life? Become a CASA Volunteer! A Court Appointed Special Advocate is a stable adult presence for a child involved in the child welfare court system. Our final training session of 2026 starts in October.

It's hard to think about coats when it 95 degrees outside, but cold weather will be here before you know it, and Arkansas Valley CASA is partnering with Black Hills Energy in their Warm for Winter Coat Drive! Starting today until October 2nd, you can drop off new or gently used coats at the CASA office, located at 308 Santa Fe Ave in La Junta. Let's work together to help keep our neighbors warm this winter!
Drop off hours are Tuesday - Friday, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Together, we can share the warmth that matters!

Please join us in celebrating our new location on Tuesday, September 8th, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Our new building at 308 Santa Fe Ave is amazing, and we can't wait to show it off! At 4:00 pm there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, courtesy of the La Junta Chamber of Commerce, followed by live music provided by Jeff Ballard Entertainment. Stop by and say hi and see how Arkansas Valley CASA is helping kids in our community!

Thanks to Mr. Lee Keller, we have almost all of the school supplies we need for our CASA kiddos. Almost.

Here is a list of a few items we still need in order to fill those backpacks and send some really great kids back to school in style.

We want to express our sincerest thanks to Maureen and Niels Rikhof with Carpe Construction, Ark Valley Pallet Company, and the Chestnut Apartments, for hosting the 4th of July Hot Dog Fundraiser for Arkansas Valley CASA. It was a blast! They served up 200 hot dogs to parade goers and raised over $300 to support CASA. Jeff Ballard entertained the crowd with some live music, and Blue Bird Shaved Ice showed up and donated sales to CASA, as well!

Thank you to everyone who donated and we will see you next year!
