Last Friday, all Muirlands students gathered on the turf field and sat in the shape of a heart — a powerful symbol of unity and love.

Thank you to Judah Rubanenko (8th grade) and Charlie Adams (10th grade, LJHS) for capturing incredible drone photos and video.

We observed a moment of silence for David and heard a moving speech from his father, Ron DeMott.

We extend our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the DeMott family. Our entire Muirlands community stands with you, holding you in our thoughts and surrounding you with love during this incredibly difficult time.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of one of our students, David DeMott.

David brought joy, laughter, and kindness to those around him and was a dedicated athlete and cherished friend. He and his family have been a wonderful part of the La Jolla community, and this loss is felt deeply.

Our hearts are with David’s family and loved ones. We will continue to carry on David’s memory.
