Kesem at UC San Diego

Kesem is a nationwide community that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. Kesem operates at more than 130 chapters coast-to-coast.

Kesem is a diverse community led by passionate and empathetic college students working to ensure that children facing the challenges of a parent’s cancer have space, connection, and support to rediscover the joys of childhood. Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community. Kesem at UC San Diego was founde

d in 2003 and supports children in the San Diego community by providing Camp Kesem, two free week-long summer camp experiences, and year-round Through and Beyond support services. Our chapter is operated by our student volunteers and serves about 150 campers ages 6-18 per year. Its programs and services are all funded by generous donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. Kesem is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

Camp Kesem at UC San Diego is looking for volunteers to join our Health and Wellness Team at our upcoming camp sessions ⛺️. We are looking for nurses and mental health professionals to join our wonderful admin team! At camp, our Health and Wellness team helps to ensure the safety and well-being of our campers, student leaders, and staff 💙💚.
