We are pleased to announce that the official Ogasawara-ryu Digital Guide is now available on Bloomberg Connects.

Through this free digital guide, visitors can explore the traditions of Ogasawara-ryu Reiho, Kyujutsu, and Kyubajutsu (Yabusame), passed down for over 850 years.

Yabusame is often experienced as a spectacular event, yet behind it lies a deeper world of etiquette, philosophy, discipline, and the dedication of many people who preserve and pass on this tradition.

Hawaii Yabusame here we come!

We are 10! Thank you everyone for all the support along the way. Redwood Kyudojo has grown from a tiny group of five to become a large and vibrant community, with both ANKF and Ogasawara Ryu. Shown here are images from our 10th Anniversary event, with Ogasawara Ryu America members performing Momoteshiki, and ANKF rituals of the opening Yawatashi by Maria, Tim, and Satoe, and Mochimato Sharei by Cody, Miki, Gerónimo, Erika, and Paul. Ogasawara Ryu arts require many hands … of course there are the craftsmen who make the yumi and ya, but also those that make the mato and maku. Shown here are the O-mato (large target) and maku (net or curtain) to be used in the Ogasawara Rui Momoteshiki ceremonial archery performance in Hawaii in June.
