A letter to: Madam Mayor Espinoza, Mayor Pro Tem Jose Medrano, Councilmember James Gomez, Councilmember Daren Nigsarian, and Councilmember Delwin Lampkin,

On behalf of all the members of the La Habra Host Lions Club, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for the continued support the City Council gives to our Club. Without your support, we would not be able to do much of what we do.

With over 20 major events each year—and an equal number of smaller ones—the funds we raise to support many local organizations would be greatly reduced without the Council’s partnership.

Whenever City Council members visit our booths during events, you always take the time to stop, chat, and thank us for our service. We want to reciprocate that kindness and express our appreciation for your support through both good times and challenging ones.

A simple “thank you” feels inadequate to express how deeply our members value your support. After a long three-day, 40-plus-hour event, when we’re tired and sore, it brings us comfort knowing you have our backs. Your support truly helps lighten the load.

With heartfelt gratitude to our La Habra City Council, we say thank you and wish you and your families all the joys of the season.

First, we celebrated the season at our annual Christmas Party — great food, great company, ugly sweaters and so many smiles. 🎉🌮

We also honored a very special Lion… Happy Retirement to Lion Kelly, the City of La Habra’s Director of Community Services! 🎉 After 40 years of dedication working in community services for La Habra and Gardena, we’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone with her. Even better — she’ll continue to be an active and valued member of our club. 💛🦁

🍽️ Come out and enjoy our famous tri-tip BBQ while you check out amazing cars like these! Plus there will be music, vendors and opportunity drawings.

Donations of pajamas, board games and sports balls for underserved children are welcome!

Day-of registration may be available (limited space) — so come early, registration begins at 8 a.m.!
