Without our volunteers, the implementation of our programs would not be possible. Today, we extend our deepest gratitude to the men and women who generously gave their time, energy, and compassion serving the hungry school children in Bacungan, Palawan.

Many of our volunteers are not wealthy in material things, yet they are rich in spirit and overflowing with compassion for others. Despite their own responsibilities and struggles, they still find time to prepare meals, distribute food, comfort the forgotten, and bring hope to those living in hardship.

These street children are so happy with their simple meal of rice and porridge. Just look at the joy on their faces.

Sometimes, as I watch them laugh and play together, I quietly ask myself: do these children even realize how poor they are?

Perhaps they are poor materially, but not in spirit. In many ways, they may even be richer than some well-provided children who grow up surrounded by gadgets, yet rarely experience the simple joy of playing freely, laughing wholeheartedly, and enjoying the company of real friends.

These children remind us that happiness is not always found in abundance, but often in the simplicity of love, friendship, and human connection.

At Rich In Care and Hope, one of our greatest joys is giving books to children.
Many of them may not yet know how to read English, but that does not stop them from experiencing the magic of a story. Through vibrant illustrations and colorful pages, they follow along with wonder and curiosity. And sometimes, even more beautifully, they use their imagination to create stories of their own.

After our feeding program for street children in Manila, we had some food left to share. Our volunteers went to a nearby street corner and offered meals to tricycle drivers waiting for passengers. What began with just three quickly grew, as more drivers came upon seeing the food being distributed. It was a quiet but powerful reminder that many among the marginalized face hunger every day.

These children were playing in a small park where we held our feeding program. They are the sons and daughters of street vendors—families with no permanent home, often forced to move from place to place after being displaced from the makeshift shelters they build. And yet, what stands out most is not their hardship—but their joy.

In this video, you’ll see them laughing, running, and playing simple games like tag and hide-and-seek. No cellphones. No tablets. No distractions. Just pure, human connection.

Despite having so little, they radiate a kind of happiness that is both humbling and inspiring—a reminder of the beauty of childhood in its simplest form, and something we rarely see in today’s world.
