Last weekend Troop 1814 had a Troop Introduction Campout with new members of Troop 1814. This introductory campout gets new Scouts familiar with the Scouts BSA program and how it differs from the Cub Scout Program. The new Scouts were taught by our older Scouts on how to set up their tents, camp kitchens and work on the Scout rank. The scouts learned many new skills and some cooked their own food for the first time. This campout was conducted in coordination with our Youth Leader Training, Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST), where our Youth Leaders used the Explain, Demonstrate, Guide and Enable (EDGE) method to help them make paper airplanes. It was a great weekend of Scouting and a great way to begin a Scouting journey. Thank you to all Scouts and Adult Leaders for making this possible!

Last weekend members of Troop 1814's Youth Leaders went through Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST). This critical youth leader training is a gateway to more advanced youth training such as National Youth Leader Training (NYLT) and National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE). ILST is a foundational Scouting America program designed for Scouts in leadership positions to understand their roles and responsibilities. It focuses on teaching essential skills—such as communication, team development, and planning—through interactive, troop-level sessions to enable a youth-led environment. It was conducted in coordination with our Troop Introduction Campout for the Scouts who have just joined Troop 1814. It was a great weekend of Scouting for those Scouts that have been on the Scouting trail with the Troop and for Scouts who are just starting their Scouting journey. Thank you to all Scouts and Adult Leaders that made the weekend possible.

This morning Troop 1814 had a great hike. They hiked 5.25 miles this morning, conquering a 316 foot elevation gain climb. On there way they saw and learned about local plants. They finished up the hike with a well deserved meal at In-n-Out. Thank you to all that came out this morning.

It’s been a busy weekend for the Troop. This morning the Troop was asked to perform a flag presentation and lead a pledged of allegiance to start the Citrus Fair’s Robot Rally and Expo. The Scouts did another great job in representing Troop 1814 and got a picture with Mr. La Habra, James Gomez. Thank you to everyone that came out to represent. We got a lot of great compliments.
