Southland Sheltie Rescue Southland Sheltie Rescue, Inc., rescues and finds homes for Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties) in the Southern California Area.

Our group was formed to combat overpopulation of shelties. Our main goal is protection of shelties already here and the prevention of further over-breeding. We are happy to help educate sheltie owners whenever we can. We strive to place all homeless shelties into permanent loving homes.

*** For those of you who have been wondering about our fall picnic, wonder no more!!

The date for our sheltie picnic is Saturday, October 24, 2026. Mark your calendars now so you and your shelties can make new friends!

For those of you who have never been to our fall sheltie picnics, we have a whole lot of fun. It’s held in Sierra Madre and begins around 10:00/10:30. We hold a big raffle and have a sheltie play area. We also hold a costume contest… we love to see those adorable shelties dressed up. You provide your own lunch and we provide the rest. You’ll also see a sea of shelties that will melt your heart ❤️🐶🙂

We’d like to thank everyone who responded to our plea and wanted to let everyone know that the situation has been resolved. We are so grateful that so many people care about helping an in need sheltie. Sheltie people are the best people! Thank you, again!


URGENT: Immediate foster needed from August 15 - August 24

We’re getting in Lilly, a beautiful sable sheltie who is 5 years old. She’s good with people, kids, and one other dog.

**She has a medical issue that requires a daily subcutaneous shot.
