We had a wonderful Summer Piknik on Tuesday evening, filled with delicious food, lively Czech music, and great fellowship.
We were honored to welcome our 2026 scholarship recipient, Clara Magliolo, and her parents. Clara shared her scholarship application essay, reflecting on her experiences growing up connected to her Czech heritage and how that heritage has shaped her values, goals, and aspirations.
We wrapped up the evening with several rounds of Czech-English Bingo. Thank you to everyone who joined us—we appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you again at our next meeting in September!

Clara Magliolo, a senior at Schulenburg High School, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Amos Pavlik Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $500, awarded by the Fayette County Czech Heritage Society.
The scholarship is presented annually to a graduating Fayette County high school senior who exemplifies academic achievement, outstanding merit, and the spirit of involvement, volunteerism, and leadership. Applicants must write an essay sharing what their Czech heritage means to them.
Clara Magliolo plans to attend Texas A&M University, where she will pursue studies in business and horticulture.
