Westmont Public Library would like to thank the hardworking Scouts of Troop 55 for spending their Saturday morning digging up day lilies!

These enthusiastic individuals dug up more plants than we were able to count, helping us make space for some pollinator-friendly natives.

In previous years, we've relied on Troop 55 for a number of projects. This may have been their biggest and we're sincerely grateful for their time and extraordinary efforts.

Thank you, Scout Troop 55!

The Beverly scout hopes to restore dignity and hope in foster children who often carry their belongings in trash bags by holding a luggage drive for his Eagle Scout project . He will be collecting gently used luggage at Christ the King Church, Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21. (Link in comments)

Scoutbook users are reporting a significant issue with advancement imports following the transition from Scoutbook Legacy to Scoutbook Plus.

Previously, users could import advancement records directly through Scoutbook Legacy, including files exported from summer camp management systems such as ScoutingEvent and Tentaroo. In Scoutbook Plus, imports now require a pipe-delimited text file, but the available export option from ScoutingEvent is a CSV file, and simply converting the file format does not resolve the problem. Compounding the issue, the advancement import feature has been removed from Scoutbook Legacy, leaving users without a viable bulk-import solution.

The problem is particularly acute following summer camp, where units may have thousands of advancement records to process. Scoutbook representatives have acknowledged the issue, stating that restoring import functionality in Scoutbook Plus is under consideration, but they do not know if or when that will be done.

Update (6/16):

"An issue that prevented the Feature Assistant Extension for Chrome and Firefox from being able to upload a Merit Badge csv file produced by Black Pug has been fixed. Legacy Scoutbook will continue to be used to import Merit Badge csv files until support is ready in Scoutbook Plus. You must have extension version 0.49.0.15. If you do not see the MB Import link on the unit page in Legacy Scoutbook, try a hard refresh (SHIFT+REFRESH) or an Incognito wnidow.

Note: In Chrome, click the 3 dots on the upper right of the Chrome window, select Extensions → Manage Extensions then click Update to get version 0.49.0.15 of the extension."

A Harris Poll study of 3,178 adults found Eagle Scouts are significantly more likely to feel daily joy (86%), gratitude (84%) and purpose (78%) than non-Scouts. They're also far less likely to feel lonely. If your Scout is working toward Eagle, this is worth printing out and putting on the fridge.

Last night, a Russian missile hit the factory where NOSU produces Scout uniforms.

We lost the fabric that had already been purchased, as well as uniforms that had already been produced and paid for, but not yet collected.

This happened just before the summer camp season, and all the uniforms lost belonged to new Scouts who had recently joined NOSU. For many of them, this summer will bring their first real Scout camp experience.

We cannot ask families to pay for the same uniform twice, but at the same time, NOSU is not in a position to replace everything that was lost on its own.

So today, we are turning to our friends, partners, and the global Scout community for support.

We all know that a Scout uniform is more than a shirt. It is about belonging, dignity, and equality. It is the feeling of standing together as part of a patrol, a troop, and the worldwide Scout family.

Please help us give these new Scouts the start to Scouting they deserve.

With your support, we will produce new uniforms and get them to the Scouts who have been waiting for them before their first summer camps.

- €20 provides a Scout uniform for one Ukrainian Scout
- €40 provides uniforms for two Ukrainian Scouts
- €100 provides uniforms for five Ukrainian Scouts

As a small thank-you:

- If you donate €20+, you will receive a thank-you video from a Ukrainian Scout.

- If you donate €40+, you will receive a thank-you video and a handmade postcard created by one of our Cub Scouts.

- If you donate €100+, you will receive a thank-you video, a handmade postcard, and a special edition NOSU Scout scarf.

All donations will go directly towards producing Scout uniforms for new Scouts.

All donors will receive a clear report on how the money was spent and what their support made possible.

Please donate using this link: https://secure.wayforpay.com/donate/d93156c4aac21

Thank you for helping us make this possible!
