The West Suburban Chiefs of Police Association (WSCOPA) was formed in 1960 as an organization of senior police executives representing the near West Suburbs of Chicago. Today the Association still promotes networking and training for their members, and also serves to follow and promote legislation affecting the communities within the near west suburbs. Other members of the West Suburban Chiefs of

Police Association include the Illinois State Police, Cook County Sheriff’s Police, and the FBI. There are also dozens of Associate Members who support the West Suburban Chiefs of Police Association. Associate members are individuals who are known to be consistent advocates of law enforcement and who may desire to assist the Association or representatives of commercial companies dealing in law enforcement supplies or services.

Congradulations to Rodney Boyd for his recent United States Senate confirmation on November 30, 2022 to be promoted to Major General. General Boyd served the Village of Bellwood for twenty years and retired as Chief of Police. I had the honor of starting my career with him. God Bless and thanks for your service.
