This week’s episode of Whit’s End looks a little different. Before wrapping up Season 6 next week, Whitney is taking a few minutes to introduce something Woven is stepping into this fall: Ephesians.

What does it really mean to live the “blessed” life Jesus calls us to?

As Woven begins a new season of studying Ephesians, Whitney sets the stage for Paul’s letter, connecting Jesus’ words after the resurrection to the life believers are invited to live today.

It’s a short conversation, but a beautiful introduction to the journey ahead as we spend this fall discovering what it means to be made alive together in Christ.

Community isn’t one event on the calendar. It’s built in all the ordinary ways we keep showing up for Jesus and for one another.

Around tables. In Scripture. Through service. In celebration. In the work behind the scenes.

So grateful for the many ways we get to be alive together.

What do we do with the parts of our stories we never would have chosen?

In this week’s episode of Whit’s End, Whitney and Melinda sit down with Davey Blackburn for a conversation about grief, trauma, healing, and the truth that with Jesus, nothing is wasted.

Late last year, Melinda came to Whitney with a book by Davey and a story she couldn’t shake. That book would eventually lead to the conversation you’ll hear today.

Davey’s story is one marked by unimaginable loss. In 2015, his wife, Amanda, was tragically murdered during a home invasion. Today, Davey and his wife, Kristi, lead Nothing Is Wasted Ministries, helping others find purpose in the midst of pain.

This conversation is a personal one. If grief or loss has ever left you wondering whether God can really bring good from the hardest parts of your story, this episode is worth the listen.

Maybe you’re tired. Maybe you’re carrying more than anyone knows. Maybe you simply miss time with Jesus.

The good news is that our hope has never rested on how well we’re holding everything together. It rests on a God who is rich in mercy and great in love.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us in Ephesians this fall, registration will remain open through tomorrow. We close registration a few days before we begin so our team has time to prepare well for every woman who’s coming.

Watching generations of women genuinely enjoy one another brings joy to our hearts.

We often talk about the gift of older women pouring into younger women, but the beauty of multigenerational community is that it doesn’t only flow one way.

There’s something about the spark in a younger woman’s eyes as she grows in her faith that encourages the woman who has been walking with Jesus for decades, too.

We need the wisdom that comes with years AND the expectancy of what is just beginning. We’re so grateful Woven gets to be a place where the two come together.
