Megan, from Yacolt, Washington, is a Psychology major focused on a future career as a mental health counselor. She is especially passionate about working with children and promoting early awareness of mental health.

“I love working with kids,” Megan said. “I think it is very important to spread knowledge about mental health early in the lives of young people so they have the knowledge they need to help them through difficult times that may affect their mental health.”

We are proud to highlight Megan and her commitment to supporting the well being of future generations.

We had an incredible time at the League of Oregon Cities Spring Conference in Pendleton.

Eastern Oregon University Professor Daniel Costie and our Executive Director, Grace Donovan joined a panel on "Growing and Inspiring the Next Generation in Local Government," alongside one of our former interns Dawn Kellogg, and Steven Davis, the Morrow County Transportation Manager. The panel reviewed our work with Morrow County on rural transportation equity as a real-world example of how working with universities can deliver big impacts in local communities. In the three years since we published our findings, Morrow County Transit ridership has seen quarterly increases of over 200%!

Dr. Costie's State and Local Government class joined us for the conference and received a crash course in local governance from LOC's Executive Director Patty Mulvihill, fielded questions from the audience, and connected with EOU alum and Mayor of Gold Beach, Tamie Kaufman.

Inspiring conversations, meaningful connections, and a strong look at the future of local leadership.

Over the past few months, Indy has supported the Urban Rural Ambassadors Program and helped promote REV events and opportunities to partners across our service region and the EOU community.
